Our Staff
We are extremely proud of our excellent staff of teachers and directors! Our staff is part of the consistent care provided by Kids ‘R’ Kids.
All Kids ‘R’ Kids faculty & personnel are required to follow state regulations that apply to training. Our staff is trained in First Aid/CPR, Infectious Disease Control, Injury Prevention, and Child Abuse Awareness. Additional training in curriculum, child development, classroom arrangement, classroom management, age appropriate activities, nutrition, field trip planning and OSHA regulations to provide the staff with skills needed to create a quality learning environment. The staff is encouraged to further their education through CDA and CCP programs and are given opportunities to attend professional training conferences.

Sherren has been the director of Kids R Kids since the opening of the school in August 2007. Over the last 15 years, she has consistently devoted her professional career to the development of young children by experiencing the variety of roles that make up a successful school. Sherren enjoys the opportunity to help other teachers find their love for education and teaching, which has become her passion. Professional education has always played an important role in her life. Sherren received her PAC Director’s Credential in 2004 and completed her Bachelors in Business Management through the University of Phoenix in 2007. As a working mother herself, Sherren feels that she understands the childcare needs of other working parents. With the knowledge, education, and love for children, she strives daily to provide a secure, nurturing, and educational environment for your child. She is honored to be a part of Kids R Kids and believes that partnering with parents will ensure each child’s early education success.

Kia has been the Assistant Director at Kids R Kids since June 2009. She was born and raised in Loveland, Ohio where she began her studies and career in Early Childhood Education. She attended the Great Oaks Institute of Technology and graduated with a two year technical degree in 2003. Kia will be continuing her education beginning in December 2010. She is excited about the opportunity to go back to school, because she is always looking to better herself. Kia relocated to Texas in May of 2007 with her husband and cat, Myla. During her transition, she veered out of the preschool industry to explore other career paths. What she found is that nothing compares to educating and influencing young children! She could not be happier being back into Early Childhood! Kia enjoys the opportunity to assist parents and children at Kids R Kids and asks that you approach her if you ever have questions or concerns!
Venus Doughty, Curriculum Director Venus@krkallentx.com
Venus is the Curriculum Director at Kids R Kids. She has a wonderful husband Wesley and has a clever 2 year old son, Tristan. Venus enjoys her faith, karaoke, laughing, and Diet Coke! She received her B.S. in Construction Project Management at Prairie View A&M University and is currently pursuing a Masters degree and PhD in Child Development and Education. Venus has provided quality child care as a director and educator since 2004 and enjoys working with children because she knows of no other job where what you put into it comes back ten-fold. She is able to leave an impact on the world through many children that cross her path- academically and through character development. Venus feels rewarded when she sees a bright, toothless smile on the face of a child who at once said nothing to anyone! Educating children corresponds to her unique talents and engages all of her. It is her calling! Venus is passionate about teaching, because a teacher was her most influential role model and helped make her who she is today.
Kurt and Lindsay Hutson, Owners
Kurt and Lindsay Hutson opened Kids R Kids of East Allen in August of 2007. They both graduated from Baylor University- Lindsay with a degree in Early Childhood Education and Kurt with a Master’s Degree in Accounting as well as a CPA license. They have a son named Colby who attends Kids R Kids, so they are able to see the parent perspective of having a child in preschool.
Kurt and Lindsay are passionate about the preschool industry and the attention that it is getting throughout the nation. The focus on improving and growing classroom practices at the state and national level has never been more apparent than now. For that reason, Kurt and Lindsay strive to create a quality program that results in each child being “school ready” when they graduate to public school. Kurt and Lindsay are on site daily to ensure that each child and parent receives the best experience possible at Kids R Kids and to be sure that it remains the most educationally focused preschool in Allen.
