Our Staff
We are extremely proud of our excellent staff of teachers and directors! Our staff is part of the consistent care provided by Kids ‘R’ Kids.
All Kids ‘R’ Kids faculty & personnel are required to follow state regulations that apply to training. Our staff is trained in First Aid/CPR, Infectious Disease Control, Injury Prevention, and Child Abuse Awareness. Additional training in curriculum, child development, classroom arrangement, classroom management, age appropriate activities, nutrition, field trip planning and OSHA regulations to provide the staff with skills needed to create a quality learning environment. The staff is encouraged to further their education through CDA and CCP programs and are given opportunities to attend professional training conferences.
Sherren Tripp, Director
Sherren has worked in the Early Childhood Development field since the age of 16 through various roles. While attending college to study deaf education, she also held a Pre-K teaching position at a Christian facility. Her passion in the classroom quickly grew to a desire to help lead other teachers to find their love for teaching as well. Over the years she has experienced every role that is required to develop a successful school. While experiencing many roles such as Lead teacher, Administrative Assistant, Program Coordinator, Assistant Director, and Interim Director, she felt her leadership and management skills were blossoming. Sherren received her PAC Director’s Credential in 2004 and completed her Bachelors in Business Management through the University of Phoenix in 2007. As a working mother herself, she feels that she understands the childcare needs of other working parents. With her knowledge, education, and love for children, she strives daily to provide a secure, nurturing, and educational environment for your child. She is honored to be a part of Kids R Kids, and believes that your child’s early education experience at Kids R Kids will be a success.
Katrina Ingram, Curriculum Director
Ms. Katrina has worked with children since 1993 and served as the director for Kids R Kids of Irving for 10 years before joining Kids R Kids of East Allen in 2010. She has experience in many roles in the field of Early Childhood Education including: Lead Teacher, Assistant Director, Director and Mentor. She currently holds a Child Development Associate Credential with Eastfield College. She has fostered her education and experience in Early Childhood Education through various organizations such as NAEYC, TAEYC, C.I.R.C.L.E. and the Texas School Readiness certification system. Ms. Katrina strongly believes in creating a solid educational foundation for every child. Her role as a Curriculum Coordinator is being responsible for the professional growth and mentoring of staff, individual progress of every child and the total operational function of the curriculum program.
Kia Menchen, Assistant Director
Kia was born and raised in Loveland, Ohio- just north of Cincinnati. She began her career and studies in Early Childhood in 2001. She then went on to graduate with a 2 year certification from Great Oaks Institute of Technology with concentration in Early Childhood Education in 2003. Kia has worked in a variety of child care positions such as Administrative support, Assistant and Lead Teacher, Cook, Receptionist and Assistant Director. Kia and her husband, Keith moved to Texas in 2007. During the transition, Kia veered out of the preschool industry to explore other career paths. She found that nothing at all compared to working with and teaching children! Kia is thrilled to be a part of the Kids R Kids team!
